Several characters cross over to the Madison Kate series but it is not necessary to read MK’s story first. I've also noticed with Tate James, even when a series has ended, there's always a cliffhanger and we never know if it's HEA.7th Circle is the first of a new series set in Shadow Grove. What I am worried about is that more books will be added to the series, simply to drag the relationship aspect out so listeners & readers will have to make more purchases. I look forward to finding out more about the mystery behind who is after her and any new 'love interests'. I find it hard to believe that a YA acts like a woman of wisdom that everyone fears, comparing herself to a cougar because of an 18 yr old (laughable). Who and what she is, mixed with her power and control at 23 yrs of age only sounds ridiculous to me. Tate always delivers strong, badass female heroines which I love, but there's something off about Hades that makes her unbelievable. 7th Circle is no different, it's fast past and there's always mystery mixed with violence.

I’m new to Why Choose, but I think this is a great introduction to the genre & it clearly works for Hades as a character.Įven though the Madison Kates series has holes you can poke in it, I love the dynamic between all the characters and I love the twists and turns that Tate James weaves in her stories. There is some intentional obscurity around the Timberwolf Massacre that will be resolved in the next books. It’s a bit out there, but this is fiction…sometimes life is more fun when you just go with it! There are a lot of sexual situations & if that’s not your scene, this series 100% is not for you.

I was happy with the back story of her past & felt like the storyline was original.

In spite of her necessarily cold exterior, she carries a heavy weight on her conscience because of her past. She makes it prettttyy difficult for anyone to consider her less than BA. What really did it for me was Hades being such a strong heroine. I was happy with the narration - both narrators do a great job. This 1st book ends on a large cliff that might’ve been cruel if the 2nd book weren’t available yet! All aside from Hades’ relationship with Lucas is super slow-burn & will develop a lot more in the next book. I will preface this by saying that you have to commit to reading the series - or atleast past the 1st book, in order to see how things will turn out for Hades.
